LAND OF ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL :

Rich in heritage this is a land of mountains, caves and archaeological sites. It’s name comes from a water spring found under one of its mountains. Located along the Gulf of Oman it lies on the East of the UAE and is seperated from the rest of the country by the Hajar Mountains. Dibba, Murbeh, Qidfa, Al Bidiyah, Masafi and Al-Siji are important villages and cities of the State. Under the able leadership of HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi Fujairah is progressing in leaps and bounds.

Fujairah International Marine Club : organises the Annual Power Boat RacingWorld Championshipwhich is a major attraction. The Emirate has a 70km long coastline which is ideal for water sport enthusiasts who can indulge in snorkelling, diving, speed boats and jet skiing. Enjoy a boat trip to other islands in the Gulf of Oman or simply go fishing.

 

Desert Safaris : as well as wadi drives and mountain treks beckon you on the rugged mountainous terrain.

 

Historical Sites : called the ‘land of the sea giant’s, excavations and archaeological findings date back to the Iron Age. Enjoy a trip down Arabian heritage.

 

The Fujairah Museum : relics and artefacts dating back to 2500 BC are on display giving us a glimpse in to what life was like in this region.

 

Spots of Interest : a must visit are the ancient forts, museums, grand mosques, spice souqs and pottery markets.

 

Souq Al Juma : is Masafi’s popular Friday market where you could pick and choose carpets, rugs, pottery, household items, souvenirs as well as fruits and vegetables.

 

Ain Al Madhab Gardens : enchanting and relaxing, all the more because of its natural mineral springs.

 

The Bidiya Mosque : a very simple structure consisting of 4 domes supported by a central striated pillar, this is UAE’s oldest monument of worship.

 

Bull Fighting : in a clean bloodless form takes place on a weekly basis.

 

Villages and Towns : quaint little fishing villages like Dibba, Bithnah oasis and AlDhaid are charming to behold. Then there is Khorfakkan, a resort town located on the east coast and surrounded by the mysteries of rugged mountains and the serenity of the seas.
